Step 1.
Draw a square outline.
Step 2.
Add two diagonal lines from corner to corner.
Step 3.
Connect the midpoints of each side to make a diamond inside the square.
Step 4.
In the very center, draw the first pinwheel blade shape.
Step 5.
Draw the same blade shapes directly above and below the center.
Step 6.
Continue adding blade shapes around the rest of the square until it’s full.
Step 7.
Start coloring some of the blades to bring the pattern to life.
Step 8.
Keep filling in more blades with color.
Step 9.
Here’s what your pattern looks like when every blade is colored.
